Position Summary
The Biomedical Research Imaging Center (BRIC) is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to support PET/CT and PET/MR imaging studies, including both research and clinical participants. The successful candidate will work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment to conduct high-quality imaging procedures, including administration of radiotracers and acquisition of PET and CT data. This is an excellent opportunity for an entry-level candidate interested in advancing their skills in both clinical and research imaging.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, handle, and administer radiotracers in compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
- Perform PET and CT imaging procedures according to established protocols.
- Ensure patient/subject safety, comfort, and confidentiality during imaging procedures.
- Operate and maintain imaging equipment, ensuring optimal performance and quality control.
- Accurately document imaging procedures and maintain study records.
- Collaborate with investigators, clinicians, and research staff to support study goals.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalency and two years of experience in medical diagnostics; or equivalent combination of training and experience. Some positions may require additional training, certifications, or licenses.
Management Preferences:
- Training and/or experience in Positron Emission Tomography (PET), diagnostic Computed Tomography (CT) is preferred, including knowledge of radiation safety principles and regulatory compliance, and the ability to troubleshoot imaging equipment and adapt protocols as needed.
- Prior experience with clinical research imaging or academic imaging. As the BRIC is a research facility that conducts clinical and research imaging, candidates should demonstrate a desire to work within the research environment as well as a clinical environment, both independently and as part of a team.
- Due to the nature of research imaging, the ability to follow standardized imaging protocols, strong organizational and documentation skills, the ability to work independently and be self-directed, the ability to multi-task and a high level of professionalism is preferred.
Required Licenses/Certifications
**Registry by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists with certification in in Nuclear Medicine and CT (or equivalent licensure or certification) is required.
