We are seeking an individual who is either American Board of Radiology (ABR) certified or eligible in Diagnostic Medical Physicist. The successful candidate will have passed part #1 of the ABR certification tests. This role will involve testing X-ray, MRI, Ultrasound, Gamma Cameras and PET equipment.
The medical physicist will be responsible for acceptance testing and annual performance evaluations across all imaging modalities.
Imaging equipment is evaluated with respect to clinical image quality, accreditation standards (ACR and The Joint Commission) and State Radiation Control Program regulations.
Additional imaging physics responsibilities include shielding design and verification, patient dose calculation, and assistance with computed tomography and fluoroscopy protocol management.
M-F days Full time.
Master’s or PhD degree in Medical Physics or Physics.
Three to five years of experience in Diagnostic Medical Physics preferred. Other candidates will be considered
Strong verbal and written communication skills with leaders, staff and medical teams.
Desire to continue learning and expanding understanding of diagnostic medical physics.
