The Department of Radiologic Sciences at the University of South Alabama is seeking candidates for a 12 month, full-time appointment with open rank for the position of Radiation Therapy Program Director. The Radiation Therapy Program awards a Bachelor’s Degree in Radiologic Sciences. The faculty position involves didactic and clinical education and is integral in the support of the Radiation Therapy Program and its accreditation. The successful candidate will work alongside other faculty in the Department of Radiologic Sciences to promote the mission and vision of the department and the university. As sole faculty of the Radiation Therapy program, the Program Director will provide instruction for the didactic curriculum, provide oversight of the clinical curriculum, and maintain, assess and interpret data gathered during the academic year for the annual report to both the college and the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT). The Program Director is also responsible for maintaining JRCERT standards and all documentation related to accreditation. Expectations include participation in standing departmental committees, and pursuing scholarly activities consistent with the goals of the department, college, and university.
Candidates must be registered with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiation Therapy. A master’s degree in a related field is required and a doctoral degree is preferred. A minimum of 3 years of clinical and teaching experience is preferred, as well as experience as a Program Director is preferred. Salary and rank will commensurate with credentials and experience.
