Masters Degree or PhD. in medical physics or a related field plus 5 years postgraduate degree experience in Diagnostic Medical Physics sub-specialty.
Certification by either the American Board of Radiology (ABR) or the American Board of Medical Physics (ABMP) or equivalent professional affiliation.
Masters Degree or Ph.D. in Medical Physics or a related field plus 7 or more years postgraduate degree experience in Diagnostic Medical Physics sub-specialty.
Certification by the American Board of Radiology (ABR) or equivalent professional affiliation.
Radiation Safety Officer or Assistant RSO within past 7 years on Medical Licenses under the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission or an Agreement State.
Perform equipment evaluations and annual medical physics surveys for all types of radiographic, fluoroscopic, cone-beam CT, breast imaging, stereotactic breast biopsy, ultrasound, CT, MRI, SPECT, PET-CT, and SPECT-CT imaging systems.
Perform quality assurance surveys and equipment evaluations meeting the requirements of State of Oregon, State of Washington, American College of Radiology (ACR) and Joint Commission.
Meet the continuing education requirements for medical physicists for ACR accreditation in mammography, CT, MRI, ultrasound, PET and nuclear medicine.
Perform mammography equipment evaluations following service, meeting MQSA requirements.
Actively support Regional Radiation Safety Committee, CT protocol optimization, and MR device safety efforts.
Provide QA/QC support and equipment evaluations for kVp x-ray imaging systems used in Radiation Therapy.
Interact with physicians in a variety of specialties that utilize fluoroscopy.
Participate in radiation safety training for physicians, allied health personnel, and others.
Support Radioactive Materials License and all aspects of Radiation Safety and function as the radiation expert for the department of Radiology.
