MULTIMODALITY/RADIOLOGIC TECHNOLOGIST: Full-time (80 hours per pay period), evenings (12P-8:30P or 11A-7:30P) with rotating weekends, eligible for full benefits. Weekend shifts are 12-hour days or nights, and weekday day or night shifts are required on occasion. Excellent customer service skills and cross-training into other modalities and certification (based on Radiology Department needs) is required. CT or mammo certification strongly preferred.
The Rad Tech is responsible for performing routine, trauma, intraoperative, radiological imaging.

Radiology at Porter Medical Center The Radiology Department performs 25,000 imaging exams annually using CT Philips ingenuity 64 slice CT scanner, MRI, ultrasound, and Hologic 3D for mammography. CT and general x-ray services are available 24/7, with ultrasound and MRI performed on weekdays with weekend ultrasound call coverage. Maintain radiological services in accordance with standards established by Porter Medical Center, State and Federal standards.
Perform radiological exams on patients as ordered by physicians/providers with first priority given to trauma and critically ill patients.
Required to be on a rotational work and call schedule, including evenings, holidays and weekends.
Required to fill in on all shifts based on departmental needs.
Select proper radiographic techniques to provide optimum quality radiographs with the lowest possible dose to the patient.
Arrange, attach or adjust immobilization and support devices.
Prepare solutions necessary for fluoroscopy exams.
Position and instruct patients regarding procedures.
Wear personnel exposure monitoring devices at all times while on duty.
Provide quality control on all radiographs taken.
Participate in cooperative planning with other department personnel to provide maximum patient care.
Perform specific opening and closing duties related to shift.
Review and agree to abide by the Porter Medical Center Compliance and Code of conduct Program.
Perform Radiology Clerk duties as needed based on departmental needs.
Satisfactory completion of a formal radiological technology program in a CAHEA approved school and certification by the ARRT or its equivalent.
Current Vermont unrestricted State license to practice radiologic technology.
Demonstrated competence as a licensed professional by maintaining professional growth and development to keep abreast in Radiology Tech field.
Maintains certification in Tech’s special modality.
CT and/or Mammography certification preferred.
