ABOUT MCHS: Marshfield Clinic Health System (MCHS) oversees Marshfield Clinic and other subsidiaries, including Security Health Plan of Wisconsin, Inc., Marshfield Clinic Research Institute, Flambeau Hospital in Park Falls and Lakeview Medical Center in Rice Lake, Wisconsin. The MCHS Radiology imaging systems consists of 18 CT scanners including a PET/CT scanner and 14 SPECT/CTs, 8 MRI scanners, 12 specialized procedural suites (Radiology & Cardiology), 110 radiography/fluoroscopy systems, 23 breast imaging systems (3D-tomosynthesis, 2D and stereotactic biopsy units), 80 ultrasound units, and over 100 dental units.
The successful candidate will assist and work in conjunction with the Medical Physics Section Head to assure that diagnostic systems and procedures are in compliance with regulations and accrediting bodies governing their use. The individual will be responsible for commissioning, testing, optimizing, and monitoring the performance of imaging equipment. Responsibilities include clinical diagnostic services, teaching and supporting the radiation safety program. Clinical responsibilities will eventually include all imaging modalities - radiography, fluoroscopy, CT, mammography, nuclear medicine, US and MRI. A limited amount of travel (driving) is expected to provide services to hospital and clinic locations.
Minimum qualifications: Master’s degree in Medical Physics with strong diagnostic medical physics background and experience is preferred. Candidates should have at least 2-5 years of experience working with radiology imaging equipment of all modalities including fluoroscopy, radiography (CR/DR), mammography, CT, MRI, and Ultrasound (residency and training experience accepted).
Technical qualifications or specialized certifications: Certified by the American Board of Radiology in Diagnostic Radiological Physics or an equivalent certification from the American Board of Medical Physics in the necessary specialty as appropriate is desirable. At a minimum, board eligible candidate is expected to attain certification within three years.
