Provides leadership and management of clinical operations in the Mammography Department.
Supervises and coordinates activities (technical operations, personnel management, quality control and financial management) under the general direction of the Radiology Administrative Director and Radiology Medical Director.
Ensures routine maintenance is performed, problems corrected and systems in place to provide a safe and comfortable environment for patient care/service delivery.
Associate's degree required or equivalent credit towards obtaining degree.
Graduate of an accredited school of radiology technology.
Five years of experience as a Mammography Technologist. Experience with developing staff work schedules with extensive knowledge in radiology techniques, processes, quality control and radiation safety. Experience with acquiring accreditation in mammography and MQSA inspections. Experience with a mammography reporting system.
Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to implement and create processes and procedures, thorough knowledge and understanding of radiology examinations, and exceptional interpersonal skills with emphasis on customer service and problem solving. Understanding of Mammography workflow. Emphasis on training and developing technical and personal growth of staff technologists. Possesses the ability to manage and accept change.
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration and ARRT certification in radiography and Mammography required. Must be trained and experienced in operating mammography equipment. Knowledge of various associated clinical equipment for patient monitoring purposes, calibration and monitoring equipment use in mammography, computer systems, phone, fax, paging system and HIS/RIS or PACS systems.
