We are seeking a self-driven and motivated Diagnostic Medical Physicist. Requirements are a master's degree in a physical science, with experience commensurate with qualification to obtain a Certified Radiation Expert certificate in the category "Diagnostic, Other Than Mammography" Board eligible or board certified is preferred however alternative qualifications will be considered. This role will be responsible for testing X-ray – MRI- Ultrasound –Gamma Cameras – PET equipment and monitors diagnostic Nuclear Medicine programs.
The medical physicist will be responsible for acceptance testing and annual performance evaluations across all imaging modalities.
Imaging equipment is evaluated with respect to clinical image quality, accreditation standards (ACR and The Joint Commission) and State Radiation Control Program regulations.
Able to competently provide radiation safety support to a radioactive materials license and various compliance programs.
Additional imaging physics responsibilities include shielding design and verification, patient dose calculation, and assistance with computed tomography and fluoroscopy protocol management.
M-F days Full time.
Master’s physical science, with experience commensurate with qualification to obtain a Certified Radiation Expert certificate in the category "Diagnostic, Other Than Mammography".
Experience in Diagnostic Medical Physics preferred.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with leaders, staff and medical teams
Desire to continue learning and expanding understanding of the radiation field.
