Lead Radiation Therapist
In this role, you will lead the activities of staff therapists and may maintain a regular schedule on the CT/SIM or treatment machines. You will be responsible for the resolution management of treatment set-ups and providing quality control; verbally communicating with patients, staff therapists, physicians, and directors; monitoring workflow; and providing technical support to staff. You will also assist with monthly scheduling of therapists; assist physicians with daily chart rounds; operate all radiation therapy equipment, sets-up, and treat patients as per physician prescription; maintain patient treatment records; provide instruction to patients; practice radiation safety principles and sterile techniques; and maintain assigned work area. You will set a professional standard for staff therapists. In addition, you will direct, check, review, assign, organize and coordinate the work of radiation therapists and students, and be responsible for training and reporting on the work performance of those assigned radiation therapists and students.
Three years of recent and relevant experience in patient treatment using various radiation therapy equipment; four years preferred
A high school diploma/GED
A current CRT/ARRT Certificate and a graduate from an accredited radiation therapy program
A current BLS certification
The ability to operate all radiation therapy equipment and planning equipment
Excellent customer service skills
Effective verbal and written communication skills
The ability to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment
