Radiological Technologist I, Student Health Center

The Student Health Center is seeking to fill an X-Ray Technologist I position. The position is responsible for medical imaging with the use of x-ray radiography technology. The position performs the technique and process for creating visual representations of the interior of the human body for clinical analysis and medical intervention. The position is a 40 hours per week, day shift, non-exempt position.
Radiography/Medical duties: 1. To ensure that the radiology equipment is operating in an appropriate manner in a means to protect the staff and the patient. To troubleshoot issues with visual quality and/or transmission of images. 2. To ensure all monthly, quarterly and annual maintenance is performed on the imaging equipment. 3. To explain to the patient what is being radiographed and ensure the patient is placed in the correct position to allow for the visual representation to be of a quality to assist with clinical analysis and medical intervention. 4. To provide and ensure that the patient and staff are protected from random x-ray ionizing rays. 5. To electronically forward all completed radiological views and a medical history to a consulting radiologist physician for review and final clinical analysis. 6. To receive the final report form the consulting radiologist and forward to the requesting physician for review and final clinical analysis. 7. To be prepared to provide assistance to medical providers in emergency situations. 8. To have the ability to perform venipuncture and 10 lead EKGs to assist the laboratory personnel in meeting the needs of the Student Health Patients. 9. All other medical duties as assigned.
Administrative support duties: 1. To perform check-in duties for the radiology and the laboratory departments including the verification of patient identification and the receipt of a provider's order. 2. To ensure all images which have been sent to the consulting radiologist are returned and filed appropriately in the electronic health record. 3. To ensure the radiology department is maintained in an organized and clean manner. 4. To participate in department committees and staff meetings. 5. All other duties as assigned.
