What you will do:
As a Radiation Oncology Physicist for St. Vincent’s Medical Center, you will be an integral part of the radiation therapy treatment plans we provide for those patients working towards cancer remission. St. Vincent’s prides itself in employing some of the best healthcare professionals in Connecticut. As a St. Vincent’s Physicist, you will support all physic aspects of patient treatment including consultation with radiation oncologists, calculation of radiation doses, design and fabrication of treatment aids and assurance of the accuracy of all treatment parameters.
One aspect of patient treatment includes performing treatment planning evaluations, dose calculation verifications, including dose calculation for IMRT, brachytherapy and phantom measurements.
In your role, you will perform required calibrations on radiation therapy equipment along with recommending and justifying new equipment and products for the Radiation Therapy department.
Another aspect of your role includes recommending radiation safety procedures to areas using radiation and educate staff in radiation safety practices.
An important part of your role includes maintaining a quality assurance program for all treatment machines and planning systems while conducting equipment performance reviews as needed and implementing quality control procedures for imaging devices.
You will also ensure compliance with all appropriate regulatory agencies and handles the administration of personnel radiation monitoring programs. And maintain and update radiation therapy policies and procedures as needed.

What you will need:
Certified Medical Physicist credentialed from the American Board of Radiology obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
Education and Work Experience:
Master's Level Degree, PhD preferred
3+ years’ experience with SRS, HDR, IMRT, IGRT, BrainLab, ExacTrac, Eclipse and Oncentra Brachytherapy software preferred.
