Elekta is looking for a Medical Physicist to join our dynamic team!
The exciting and evolving field of Medical Physics within ELEKTA requires research and development in the areas of 3D visualization, medical image analysis, mathematical modeling of physical interactions of radiation with matter, energy transport, advanced calculation algorithms, large scale optimization problems, GUI concept development and much more.
Participate in design and development of new features for all the ELEKTA products, mostly concentrated in quality assurance solutions.
Participate in algorithm testing and implementation: our Physics group works from the theoretical level to the clinical level. They have strong interaction with software engineering groups, the mathematical modeling and physical implementation of machine and patient quality assurance, dose calculation solutions, and clinical testing of new developments.
Interact with selected customers, for software development, customer relations or troubleshooting (i.e. direct support) when needed.
Provide support to the customer support organization.
Provide support to the marketing and sales organization from the Physics perspective
Perform data collection and/or beam modeling for purposes of algorithm testing, product development or to fulfill business needs (Work in a clinical setting with treatment machines is involved in this task).
Lifting of testing devices to the treatment couch may be required, up to 40 pounds.
Conduct internal training of other groups in the company.
Create documentation related to current or future products in the Physics related area.
Provide Medical Physics expertise to the ELEKTA Organization.
Some travel is required, local and/or international, typically 10% of time.

Masters or PhD in Medical Physics or related field and at least 3 years of clinical experience as a Medical Physicist.
Must be proficient in using the personal computer and MS Office Suite, skilled in performing numerical analysis, and possess good communication skills.
Coding experience in C or C++ is highly desirable.
Experience with mathematical optimization of complex problems is a plus.
Some travel is required, both domestic and international (typically 10%, may be up to 25 %)
