Associates in Medical Physics (AMP) is currently recruiting an experienced and licensed Radiation Therapist for PRN (as needed) work at our Radiation Oncology Centers in Southern Maryland. Current R.T.(T) certified and MD licensed required. 1-3 years of experience preferred. Position could range from PRN as needed support to Full-Time with benefits. Administers radiation treatment and performs CT simulations as directed by the Radiation Oncologist.
Scope of Work
Perform daily quality control tests on the treatment machine, including Linac, HDR, IGRT, and CT Simulator as assigned. Report any discrepancy to the clinical physicist and Chief/Lead per facility P&P as described in competency.
Perform CT for simulation consistent with written directive by radiation oncologist
Perform IGRT for treatment or simulation consistent with written directive by radiation oncologist.
Administer radiation treatments to patients consistent with written directive by radiation oncologist.
Schedule patients for daily treatments, boosts, and additional CT simulations.
Assists with delivery of HDR treatment if applicable.
Be aware of any changes in patient’s mental status, and physical wellbeing; alerting the nurse or physician if needed.
Alert patients when they are scheduled to see the nurse or physician per facility protocol.
Ensure adequate supplies are available, alert appropriate staff when reordering is needed.
Maintain a professional attitude and appearance at all times. Works cordially and responsibly with other members of the team.
Other duties as assigned that are consistent with and in support of your scope of practice.
Responsible for remaining current with scope of practice defined by your credentialing and professional licensing organizations and/or adhere to the scope of practice as defined in your job description.
