Job Opportunity: The University of Toledo Medical Center (UTMC) has an immediate opening for a full time Diagnostic Medical Physicist with Clinical, Teaching, and Research Responsibilities. In addition to a Residency Program in Radiology, The University of Toledo (UT) offers CAMPEP accredited MS and Ph.D. degree programs in medical physics. This is tenure track faculty position in the department of Radiology.
Minimum Requirements: Ph.D. in Medical Physics with certification by the American Board of Radiology in Diagnostic Radiological Imaging Physics. A minimum of five years of experience preferably in university settings in sought with direct experience in clinical diagnostic imaging, teaching, and research.
Responsibilities: Performing equipment evaluations and annual medical physics surveys for all types of radiographic, fluoroscopic, breast imaging, ultrasound, CT, MRI, stereotactic breast biopsy and PET/SPECT/SPECT-CT imaging systems that we have on UT grounds. Perform ACR Accreditation support and surveys and meets the continuing education requirements for medical physicists for ACR accreditation in mammography, CT, MRI, ultrasound, PET and nuclear medicine. Perform mammography equipment evaluations in emergent situations, meeting MQSA requirements. Actively support client Radiation Safety Committees and CT protocol optimization efforts. Participate in teaching Residents in Radiology and medical physics students. Supports Radioactive Materials License and all aspects of Radiation Safety and functions as the Certified Radiation Expert (CRE) for the department of Radiology.
