The computer tomography technologist is a certified health professional who, under the direction of an authorized user, is committed to applying the art and skill of diagnostic imaging through the safe and effective use of CT scanning equipment. Responsibilities include direct patient care provided in a compassionate and timely manner. The technologist's growth and development is maintained through ongoing medical and technical education and research and ultimately contributes to the delivery of quality patient care.
As a Radiology technician at Mercy Health, you’ll perform radiologic services, give direct care to patients and do routine diagnostic radiographs and assessments. Collect date, such as standard vital signs. Help doctors with exams, as required. Perform radiographic procedures. Observe Radiology safety practices. Maintain the quality standards of equipment, shielding, surroundings and supplies. Provide administrative support, such as filing, data entry, registration and documentation of charges, as needed.
CT Tech Requirements
Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology.
Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology.
License by the Ohio Department of Health.
Recommended not required to be registered in computed tomography by taking an advanced level exam given by ARRT.
Current CPR certification (American Heart Association)
Radiology Tech Requirements
Associate degree in Radiologic Technology from a vocational or technical school
1–2 years experience, preferred
American Registry of Radiologic Technology registration
Current licensure as a radiology technologist in Ohio
Current CPR certification
