Prepares patients and applies ionizing radiation under the general supervision of the Chief Therapist, Medical Physicist and Radiation Oncologists. Responsible for ensuring the daily smooth running of the radiation oncology treatment machines in accordance with the centers Quality Analysis Protocols.
Major functions include: Setting up patients for radio-therapeutic treatment using Varian TrueBeam/Vital Beam Linear Accelerator. Applying ionizing radiation according to M.D. prescription utilizing techniques including: Volumetric Arc Therapy (VMAT), Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), Image Guidance with CBCT and KV/MV Imaging, Respiratory Gating and Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy (SBRT). Maintaining accurate treatment records in ARIA. Performing Simulations with a CT Simulator.

ARRT and CA state radiation therapy licenses.
Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy Education Program.
3 years + related experience, depending on training.
Interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with patients and co-workers.
