The MRI Technologist, Lead provides technical knowledge and/or coordinates the delivery of MRI Services. Under the direction of a qualified physician, this position will operate a variety of equipment, including high field strength magnets and support systems with MRI safety as a priority. The MRI Technologist, Lead will be responsible for patient coordination, acquisition, processing, and archiving of all patient data. This position is responsible for training new staff as well as existing staff on new technologies. The MRI Technologist, Lead will maintain and operate equipment according to manufacturer's specifications, reporting all problems appropriately. The MRI Technologist, Lead may be required to oversee provision of MRI services and staffing coverage in absence of the supervisor. This position may perform duties in the Main Hospital, Ambulatory Care Center and/or satellite facilities throughout UCD's Primary Clinic Network as deemed necessary by management.REQUIRED:--Minimum of 2 years MRI experience.--ARRT certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging.--Possession of valid CPR.--Knowledge and ability to operate MRI equipment to provide quality images. --Advanced in use of the PACS (Stentor) and Radiology Information System.--Must be able to adapt to new programs and equipment upgrades as the MRI field advances.--Knowledge and ability to use computer terminal. Ability to input and retrieve data and to observe applicable Radiology Information System (RIS) and Information Services (IS) access codes, security and privacy.--Demonstrated competency in archiving, retrieving and exceptions handling with the PACS system.--Knowledge of anatomy, including cross-sectional anatomy and related positioning. --Must be able to adapt to new programs and equipment upgrades as the radiological field advances.--Problem-solving skills to independently recognize and define a problem; identify the resources available to help solve the problem; create and implement viable solutions, and follow through to ensure the problem is resolved to the satisfaction of all parties.--Decision-making skills to independently exercise delegated authority to take action, and to recognize when it is appropriate to seek assistance from others when limits of delegated authority have been reached.--Experience with handling a high patient volume in a high pressure department with constantly changing prioritiesPREFFERED:--I.V.
