Performs diagnostic sonographic examinations utilizing ultrasonic equipment to locate, evaluate and record critical functional, pathological, and anatomical data. Schedules and coordinates tests, records test results, and prepares and maintains operational logs. Calibrates and maintains equipment and orders supplies when needed. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Typically reports to a chief technologist or manager.
Education: High School diploma or GED required. Two year allied health degree. One year approved school of Diagnostic Ultrasound required. Prefer two years Experience: Two years experience in ultrasound preferred Registered as ARDMS Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills. Certification/Licenses: Current American Registry of diagnostic medical monographs Required to pass examination to become RDMS certified within 18 months of hire Valid CPR for Heathcare provider required.
