Under the direction of a qualified physician and the Imaging Services Manager or designate, this position incorporates all the duties of a staff radiologic technologist.
Performs procedures according to departmental protocol as established by Radiologist(s); understands procedure preparation for general radiology Presents examination education to the patient prior to the exam, gives post procedure instructions pertinent to the exam performed. Properly identify and verify patient. Interviews the patient to obtain patient's medical history or important information regarding the nature of the exam being performed; documents that information appropriately Demonstrates knowledge of all digital and computed radiography procedures (evaluation of digital image, operation and re-loading of imaging plates, burn CD's, etc.) Critiques images prior to submitting for interpretation. Monitors film quality; maintains film repeat rate of 5 percent or less Utilizes appropriate film markers Utilizes shielding/collimation to minimize patient radiation exposure, complies with Radiation Safety Procedures and ALARA principles; monitors own radiation exposure
High School Diploma or GED required.
Completion of formal Radiologic Technologist training at an AMA approved school.
New graduates considered
Must successfully complete 60-day probation period.
Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills.
Must be ARRT Registered
Maintains appropriate CE credits as per the ARRT.
Current CPR for HealthCare Provider required.
