The Cornell MRI Facility is a state-of-the-art research-dedicated facility and is equipped with a GE Discovery MR750 3.0T scanner. It is a university-wide resource that provides noninvasive imaging for a wide range of structural and functional investigations, including human neuroscience.
The Cornell Magnetic Resonance Imaging Facility (CMRIF) equipped with a 3T GE Discovery MR750 MRI scanner is a state-of-the-art university-wide facility dedicated to scientific research supporting a wide range of scientific investigations in Cornell University Ithaca campus. The CMRIF is seeking a research MRI Technologist to join the research team. The MRI Technologist performs a range of MRI tasks including screening and scanning of human and animals, data management and assistance with user education, quality assurance, monitoring system performance and safety. The Technologist will also be responsible for the administrative duties relating to the MRI facility operation, including but not be limited to: scheduling, financial tracking, supply management, providing information for research reports and grants, greeting research participants and answering the phone.
This is a full time position, 39 hours per week; however we will consider applicants who are interested in 30 â“ 39 hours per week. This is a two year term position, with the possibility of renewal. The general hours for this position are Monday â“ Friday, 8:00 â“ 5:00, with occasional evening and weekend work due to participant needs.
Current MRI certification in either the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (AART) or the American Registry of MRI Technologists (ARMRIT);
Completion of certified Diagnostic Radiologic Technology Program;
Formal training beyond high school of 1 or 2 years or AA or equivalent;
CPR-BLS level certification required within 2 months of employment;
Computer experience with Mac OS, Windows and/or UNIX/LINUX systems;
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Word and Excel software;
Excellent interpersonal skills and attention to detail;
Ability to work independently and effectively with members of multidisciplinary team;
Must be able to work flexible work schedule including weekends and evenings.
Experience working with GE MRI scanners and proficiency with computer hardware and electronics.
