LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING: Required: ARRT (MR) - MRI Technologist ARMRIT(MR) - ARMRIT(MR) BLS (CPR) - AHA Health Care Provider BLS Additional information on required licensure/certification/registry/listings: ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT(MR) acceptable. Must have above credentials and maintain at all times.
JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible to maintain regulatory and professional standards and exhibit strong decision-making capabilities. A close working relationship with Radiology leadership, radiologists, and the medical staff is required to maintain a cost-effective and patient-focused service. This position is responsible to provide care for patients undergoing MR procedures using the approved workflows and procedural protocols. Technologists in this position are able to demonstrate full knowledge of MR equipment.
MAJOR WORK ACTIVITIES: Performs routine and special exams consistent with established protocols to minimize repeat examinations. Exam productivity is within established benchmark. (25%)
Consistently completes all exams and documentation in CHL and PACS. Consistently and accurately identifies all charges associated with studies. Addresses errors and resolves issues related to final product being sent to PACS. (20%)
Consistently demonstrates commitment to safe practices. Commitment to avoid red rule violations (Two for Two), laterality errors, eliminate falls, and Magnet Safety. Completes all annual competencies by designated timeframe. (20%)
Exemplary model using AIDET, service excellence and service recovery. (20%)
Assists with patient transport as necessary. (15%)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Medium Work: Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally (up to 1/3 of the time), and/or; 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently (1/3 to 2/3 of the time), and/or; greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly (2/3 or more of the time) to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. WORKING CONDITIONS: Occurs under one-third of the time: Exposure to bloodborne pathogens Occurs up to two-thirds of the time: Hazardous waste and/or toxic/caustic chemicals Occurs over two-thirds of the time: Fumes or airborne particles Additional information on working conditions: Radiation exposures are monitored monthly for all radiation workers. Staff are expected to practice ALARA to decrease exposure levels. Staff are also expected to wear/don PPE when appropriate.
