The Diagnostic Physicist is responsible for the safe and appropriate use of radiation in the diagnostic and interventional setting at Tower Health (Reading Hospital), and works under the supervision of the Director of Medical Physics. He/She will act as the RSO or Assistant RSO, (Radiation Safety Officer) and be responsible for implementation and oversight of the radiation safety program, including all pertinent licensure or registration of radioactive materials and radiation-producing machines. He/She will be responsible for ensuring overall compliance with all state and federal level regulations and requirements pertaining to diagnostic imaging. He/She will be accountable to Directors of Radiology, CVIR and OR in meeting above requirements.
M.S. degree in Medical Physics from a CAMPEP accredited Graduate Program in the USA. (Required)
Certification by the American Board of Radiology (ABR) in Radiological Physics. (Required)
3 Years of experience as a diagnostic medical physicist. (Required)
Would require evenings and weekend work as required to satisfy Hospital needs.
