The Director, Radiation Therapy will serve as the senior expert at all Radiation Oncology sites in the Emory Healthcare network. The Director will serve as a strong collaborator and strategic partner to Winship leaders and partners. Reporting to the senior leadership of the Radiation Oncology Department, the Director, Radiation Therapy will lead planning and operational activities and direct the radiation therapy staff in providing safe and effective treatment imaging and delivery across four sites, including photon and proton locations.
Direct the department's therapy services, including overall operations, administration, personnel, operating budget, vendor relations (including machine and service contracts), and administrative functions.
Promote patient and family focused culture to deliver care at all locations with appropriate efficiency of service, safety and quality control parameters.
Serves as the strategic driver in all aspects of radiation therapy treatment delivery, implementing and changing processes and adding new technological advances in the discipline to Emory Healthcare, in partnership with Radiation Oncologists and medical physics.
Develop, monitor and maintain a flexible staffing model and resource sharing opportunities across the Emory Healthcare sites.
Provide leadership in the development of orientation and competency assessment of new and current clinical staff.
Takes a leading role in departmental projects; plan project execution; monitor and document schedules and deadlines; communicate status; and formally document the close of projects. In collaboration with medical physics leadership, provide oversight for the maintenance, clinical application, and quality assurance of all radiation therapy equipment and services provided.
Bachelor's degree required.
Graduate of JRCERT accredited program in radiation therapy or equivalent.
Must have passed the registry exam as a Radiologic Technologist by American Registry of Radiology Technologists (ARRT) and have valid licensure.
Seven (7) years progressive experience as Radiation Therapy Technologist (RTT), with five (5) years of management experience OR and equivalent combination of education and experience.
CPR training required.
