DUTIES: The PACS Administrator is responsible for all related activities for supporting the hospital's Cardiology Information and Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) to include preparing images for digital archiving and assuring the quality control of medical diagnostic images and files. The System Administrator is also responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, repairing, patching and upgrading all Cardiology Information/PACS associated hardware and software while ensuring its availability and optimal performance. DUTIES & REPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for the site-specific failure recovery and work around procedures. Cooperate with the Cardiology/PACS, diagnostic modalities and vendors to develop all procedures. Will ensure the stability of the PACS environment, delivery of projects, installations that integrate new modalities (imaging equipment). Participate and document the testing of all procedures to ensure accuracy and reliability. Work with physicians, employees, department supervisors and IT personnel to ensure proper operation of digital image data transfer into the PACS, RIS validation, and exceptions handling. Maintain databases and disk space. Perform system backups and support data migration. Monitor image quality at reading stations and perform calibration of monitors. Maintain, configure and document user access, user profiles and system configurations. Support implementation of systems; and perform and document acceptance testing. Collaborate with Cardiology medical imaging team for efficient distribution of images. Assist in the development of operating standards, policies and procedures. Must have understanding and experience in implementation of HL7 and DICOM standard. (DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE ABOVE POSITION DESCRIPTION) QUALIFICATIONS: REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related fields of study; 3-5 years experience with Cardiology PACS/RIS software applications and support responsibilities. Excellent Project Management, written and oral skills. Strong computer knowledge with technical skills and MS Windows Operating Systems. Commitment to exceptional customer service. PREFERRED: Master's degree in Computer Information Systems or Information Technology. A minimum of 2 years technical support experience working with clinical information systems. Additional Info: * Represents Location Pay for full-time appointees. Hours of Work: Variable; Days of Week: Monday-Friday; Hours per Week: 37.5.
