We are seeking a Chief Medical Physicist in Wausau to be equally involved in the leadership, development, implementation and technical aspects of the Radiation Oncology programs for all Aspirus-affiliated Radiation Oncology clinical sites. Locations include: Antigo, Wausau. Our program is part of the ACC- Association of Community Cancer Centers, NAPBC- National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers, CoC- Commission on Cancer
Provide consultation, advice, education, or technical direction for patients, Physicians, Administrators, Managers, Clinical Staff, and Technical Staff.
Supervise staff including Clinical Medical Physicists, Medical Dosimetrists. Oversee the technical aspects of Radiation Therapists for Radiation Oncology facilities.
Organize and directs the efforts of the Radiation Oncology facilities to care for patients with optimally designed and delivered treatments.
Facilitate the purchase and specification of capital purchases, administrating the implementation of new, and the enhancement of existing, treatment technology and procedures.
Accountable for the support of and assistance to Physicians of Radiation Oncology and the Service Line providing patient safety measures, strategic leadership, analysis, and direction.
Knowledge of radiation oncology and related technology standards and protocols normally acquired through completion of a Master’s Degree in Medical or Radiological Physics from an AAPM accredited institution.
Experience as a Radiation Oncology Physicists
Previous experience in managing, supervising, and directing a Radiation Oncology program beneficial.
Knowledge and experience with Varian Truebeam/Tomotherapy Accelerators and Pinnacle Treatment Planning System.
ABR or ABMP certification in Therapeutic Medical Physics.
AMP on recent Radioactive Materials License for usage (35.600) Remote Afterloader Units, or eligibility, experience, and known preceptor for AMP to be obtained within 6 months of date of hire.
